Kakinada: Kakinada Customs House secured first place in India in the effective implementation of electronic data interchange, said the Commissioner of Customs, Koka Sudha here on Friday.
Speaking at a press conference at the customs office at Kakinada Port, she said that Kakinada Customs House stood first among 215 customs houses in India.She informed that the customs house earned Rs 6,500 crore of revenue from the Kakinada Port, Krishnapatnam Port and Underground Container Depot at Guntur under the Vijayawada Customs Commissionerate.
She explained that the primary customs duty was increased eight percent while the IGST (Integrated Goods and Service Tax) was increased 360 percent. Their branches increased the trade facilities to the exporters and importers like self-ceiling, 24-hour customs services, direct port delivery facility and the sanction of refund of IGST. She further informed that the Vijayawada Customs Commissionerate had refunded the IGST worth Rs 360 crore.
