Big win for Ashok Babu, Ashok Babu, President of APNGO Ashok Babu Won in Elections. turned out to vote in large numbers from various parts of the State
Hyderabad: APNGOs president P Ashok Babu won another term as its president on Sunday. He won the election with a majority of 456 votes over his rival Shaik Abdul Basheer (President of APNGO Prakasam district unit). The election was held amid tight security at APNGOs office at Abids here on Sunday.
Of the 815 votes polled, 630 went in favour of Ashok Babu while Basheer got only 174. In all 13 of the votes polled were declared invalid owing to retirement of officials. The voting process, which began in the morning continued till evening. Several employees failed to turn up to take part in the election. Association general secretary N Chandrasekhar Reddy polled 616 votes as against 183 by his rival PVV Satyanarayana.
Later speaking to media persons, Ashok Babu said that despite different kinds of pressures, employees turned out to vote in large numbers from various parts of the State. These elections, he said, not only boosted the confidence of the employees, but also the morale of Seemadhra people. He said that the future course of action would be planned from tomorrow by taking in to confidence all the sections of the Association. He assured that the APNGOs would fight for the demands of the employees by prioritising their issues.
