Former DGP Dinesh Reddy to Join BJP. According to sources, former DGP of Andhra Pradesh, V Dinesh Reddy, is likely to join the Bharatiya Janata Party soon.
Hyderabad: According to sources, former DGP of Andhra Pradesh, V Dinesh Reddy, is likely to join the Bharatiya Janata Party soon. It is learnt that he has been in touch with the party’s state headship for past sometime and has expressed his desire to join the BJP. Further, he also called up senior BJP leader and former Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya on Thursday morning and discussed in point his purpose to join the party.
According to sources, Dinesh Reddy plans contest for the Ongole Lok Sabha seat as a BJP candidate in the resulting general elections. Accoring to sources, Dattatreya assured him that he would take up the issue with the central leadership and pave the way for his bringing on into the party, at the earliest. However, Dattatrya refused to comment anything on the very issue stating that the matter was still in the budding stage. He said that the party will make an official proclamation on his induction after getting approval from the central leadership.
It is also learnt that the TDP-BJP alliance will not cause an obstacle for him contesting for Ongole Lok Sabha constituency as he already sought clearance for the same.
