Soon after the announcement of Vijayawada as capital for AP state in the Assembly today by the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the situation in Rayalaseema reached high boiling point with the criticism from a few area legislators and people.

The decision on the Capital city of AP by Chandrababu Government upset people from Kurnool-Ananthapur staged a protest against the decision of the Telugu Desam Party.
Besides, the premises near Medical College at Ananthapur also turned restless with students from Sri Krishna Devarayulu University holding signboards against the government and Chandrababu.
The route between Chennai and Ananthapur was also blocked by the protesting people.
