S Venkateswara Rao assumed charge as the deputy transport commissioner of Krishna district. He worked as the DTC of Visakhapatnam, West Godavari district and Srikakulam before his transfer to Krishna district. Ch Sivalingaiah, who worked here as DTC, was transferred to Kurnool. Speaking on assuming charge, Venkateswara Rao said that he would give his best to Krishna district in regulating the unauthorised bus operations. Keeping in view the city’s location in the capital region, he said he would ensure safety of passengers on roads by preventing illegal operations by the private travellers.
