AP farmers spoil Chandrababu's capital plans

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is making big plans to convert a small underdeveloped region in his state into a city likes Singapore. However, it looks like the possibility of realising his dream may be too far fetched.

It's a known fact that Chandrababu is eyeing farmers' lands to build AP capital city. He even met experts in Japan and Singapore to draw the best from both countries for his world class capital. However, the farmers have been anything but co-operative. Their grouse is that the AP CM is targeting fertile lands which are giving them their daily bread. They are neither willing to buy false hopes made by politicians nor are they willing to part with their lands. It's worth mentioning here that a few farmers went from house-to-house collecting signatures of fellow villagers to express their opposition to give away their lands.

They are expected to take the signature campaign to the President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

As if that was not enough, a few farmers have even erected boards in their respective lands with a clear message to AP government that they are not willing to give their lands for development.

It now remains to be seen how the AP chief minister would convince them.
