Hyderabad: YSR Congress Party pooh- poohed the tall talk of the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu that the State has set a target of achieving 15 per cent growth rate for 2016-17. Addressing the media persons here, on Sunday, party leader and MLA R K Roja said, “When the highest growth rate in the World has been that of China at 7.40 per cent and the national figure has been pegged at 5.60 per cent how can Andhra Pradesh achieve or even think of the impossible 15 per cent growth rate.”

“In Andhra Pradesh, farmers are in distress; their loans are not waived and are declared as defaulters. Most of the industries are left out in Hyderabad and the production figures would show a downward spiral. The IT industry is heavily concentrated in Hyderabad and no income could be expected. When it comes to service sector, there is little to no scope with lack of infrastructure. In such a scenario, how can an ambitious goal of 15 per cent growth rate be achieved,” Roja wondered.
