Yamini, who is born and brought up in the city realised her dream as an actress after shifting to Hyderabad and is now doing films in Malayalam and Tamil languages too.

Yamini Bhaskar“When I was offered the script of ‘Keechaka’, a film-based on a real life incident, I was apprehensive over the role and took time to finalise it.

Besides criticism and controversies, I am appreciated for my work and my decision to go ahead with the film earned rewards,” said Yamini Bhaskar, who played key role in the recent film Keechaka. Yamini, who is born and brought up in the city realised her dream as an actress after shifting to Hyderabad and is now doing films in Malayalam and Tamil languages too.

In a brief interaction with The Hans India, Yamini, who was in the city to inaugurate a textile expo said that she had very fond memories with the place, where she completed her undergraduate education before pursuing acting at Devas Kanakala. Initially scared though, she went on to take her work more seriously, she says.

Speaking about her venturing into the glamour industry, she says, “My uncle VN Aditya asked me to test the waters in industry. Therefore, I got trained under Devdas Kanakala and landed an opportunity in Rabhasa starring Jr NTR where I portrayed a character as villain’s daughter.

Later, I worked as a lead in Malayalam film ‘Ellam Chettante Ishtam Pole’ and Tamil film ’Munnodi’ is up for release. Now, I have a couple of projects that are under shooting with Music Director Koti’s son Rajiv as male protagonist and one another titled ‘Kothaga Ma Prayanam’.

Yamini who is a trained Kuchupudi dancer shares, ‘’I want to do challenging roles like what Kangana Ranaut in Queen and Anushka in Arundhati have done. I am not against glamour and do not mind exposing if script demands.”
