Create traffic awareness: Collector to RTA officials
West Godavari district Collector K Bhaskar directed the Road Transport Authority (RTA) officials to create awareness among the students and public for the road safety in the district.

Flagging off the 27th road safety week celebrations at Collectorate, here on Friday, Bhaskar released pamphlets on traffic rules and road safety published by the transport department.
Speaking on the occasion, the Collector expressed his anguish over the fact that about sixteen to twenty people are dying in road accidents every hour in the country.
“It is our duty to follow the road safety measures to curb the accidents. The transport department has to create awareness among the students and public on traffic rules. The traffic signals, rules and regulations should be widely displayed. Even though the numbers of accidents have decreased when compared to previous years, the death rate is very high,” he added.
