Hyderabad: The Privileges Committee of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly on Saturday endorsed the report submitted by the Deputy Speaker Mandali Buddha Prasad panel justifying the action taken against YSRCP MLA Roja for her 'behaviour' during the winter session of the House.

  • The committee endorses the report submitted by Dy Speaker
  • Speaker Kodela to seek views of the members by placing the report in the House on Monday

The privileges panel, headed by TDP member G Surya Rao, is learnt to have recommended to Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao to uphold the earlier punishment given to Roja by eliciting the views of the House on Monday. Following this, the Speaker is likely to seek the views of the House on Monday by placing the committee's report before the House.

This move would make the House's earlier decision suspending Roja for one year legally valid," said a source. The committee is also learnt to have recommended stern action against another YSRCP MLA Kodali Nani. However, it pardoned Ch Bhaskar Reddy, Jyothula Nehru and K Sridhar Reddy of YSRC for allegedly making inappropriate comments against some members of the treasury benches, after they had expressed regrets for their actions.
