A student of Intermediate fearing that she may not get the expected rank in Eamcet committed suicide by hanging herself to the ceiling fan here on Thursday. The deceased T Lakshmi (18) was staying with her parents, T Gangamma and T Srinivasulu at Vital Nagar under 4th police station limits. Lakshmi was said to be a brilliant student, who scored 9.7 GPA in 10th and 930 marks in Intermediate. 

Kurnool: A student of Intermediate fearing that she may not get the expected rank in Eamcet committed suicide by hanging herself to the ceiling fan here on Thursday. The deceased T Lakshmi (18) was staying with her parents, T Gangamma and T Srinivasulu at Vital Nagar under 4th police station limits. Lakshmi was said to be a brilliant student, who scored 9.7 GPA in 10th and 930 marks in Intermediate.

Recently, she appeared for Eamcet conducted by the Andhra Pradesh government. The deceased cross-checked her answers with the key and suspected that she may not get the expected rank and committed suicide while her parents were not at home. The body was shifted to the Government General Hospital in Kurnool for postmortem.

On learning about the incident, the 4th Town CI Nagaraja Rao rushed to mortuary and educated the parents of the deceased to donate their daughter’s eyes. The CI said to the deceased’s parents that Superintendent of Police Ake Ravikrishna had taken up a mission to extend vision by donating eyes. The parents, who convinced over the mission of the SP, have come forward and donated their daughter’s eyes to the eye bank.
