Chandrababu Naidu vows Buddhist centre in capital
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that an international Buddhist research centre would be developed at Amaravati capital apart from an international museum.

Releasing a book ‘Amaravati Prabhuvu Vasireddy Venkatadri Naidu’ written by veteran journalist Potturi Venkateswarao here on Friday, the Chief Minister stressed the need for protecting Telugu culture and traditions. He said that the inscriptions should be preserved to for the benefit of young generations.
“Though foreign architects were roped in to design Amaravati capital, we also invited Indian architects and asked them to design the city to suit our culture and traditions. Amaravati will be a replica for self respect of Andhras,” he added.
Naidu reiterated that he would not compromise on special status and reminded that he asked the Prime Minister to confer the special status to State in his recent visit to Delhi. “The Central government should provide additional funds for the development of the State, as it suffered loss due to unjustifiable bifurcation,” he remarked.
The Chief Minister reiterated that Amaravati capital would be developed as one of the top ten cities and predicted that it would be a trade centre for South East Asian countries.
Presiding over the programme, Speaker of the Assembly Kodela Sivaprasada Rao explained about the vision of the Chief Minister to develop Amaravati capital city.
Deputy Speaker Mandali Buddha Prasad said the archives and inscriptions that belong to the State, which are lying in Hyderabad and Chennai museums should be brought back to Amaravati.
Author Potturi Venkateswara Rao said that the villages should be developed on par with cities. He expressed concern over lack of publicity for government welfare programmes and appealed to people and political parties to extend cooperation for development of Amaravati capital.
Minister for Water Resources Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao, MLA Bonda Uma Maheswara Rao, former chief secretary IYR Krishna Rao, Emesco Vijaykumar and others were present.
