He said that the Telugu Desam government will mount pressure on the Centre for Special Status.

Addressing Mini-Mahanadu meeting in Sri Venkateswara Vignana Mandir in Guntur city on Sunday, he said that Jaganmohan Reddy tried to stop the construction of Pattiseema Lift Irrigation Scheme and capital also. He criticised the YSRCP leader Botcha Satyanarayana as he did nothing to the Kapu caste and reminded that as soon as TD came to power, the Chief Minister has appointed Manjunatha Commission to include Kapus in the list of BCs, subsequently, Kapu Corporation was set up.

He urged the party activists to explain how Jaganmohan Reddy was creating hurdles for the development of the State to the people. He further stated that in spite of severe financial crisis Chandrababu Naidu waived crop loans and Dwacra loans to keep up his election promise.

He said that the Chief Minister was trying to make Andhra Pradesh drought-free State and implementing Neeru-Chettu programme. Minister for Agriculture Prattipati Pulla Rao said that the BJP-TDP alliance will continue and in spite of it, the TD will exert pressure on the Centre for Special Status.

He said that the government will fill agriculture Marketing Committee chairman posts. He urged the party activists to campaign about the welfare schemes being introduced by the government to the people. The government is trying to make agriculture viable and trying to get a better price to the farmers, he said and added that the government will distribute the plots to the farmers in Amaravati.

Minister for Social Welfare Ravela Kishore Babu said that in spite of it financial crunch, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is developing infrastructure in Amaravati. He said that the government will complete the construction of temporary Secretariat within the stipulated time.

Telugu Desam State general secretary Gorantla Buchaiah Chowdary said that the Leader of the Opposition opposed the Pattiseema Lift Irrigation Scheme. He said now the government is ready to release Pattiseema water to Krishna delta by June second week. He launched scathing attack on the BJP government at the Centre for not giving Special Category Status to the State and separate railway zone.

He said that the Centre was not releasing sufficient funds to overcome financial crisis caused by the division of the State. MLA Sarvan Kumar said due to steps were taken by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, the government has acquired 35,000 acres of land under the Land Pooling System for the construction of capital and created a history.

The government will shift the employees to the temporary Secretariat by June 27, he added. He further stated that in spite of financial crisis, the Chief Minister is fulfilling his election promises. Telugu Desam district president G V Anjaneyulu presided over the meeting. MLAs Modugula Venugopala Reddy, D Narendra Kumar, former minister J R Pushpa Raj, were among those participated.
