Rajamahendravaram: Former Minister and Kapu reservations agitation leader Mudragada Padmanabham said here on Thursday that their movement demanding the inclusion of Kapu, Telaga, Vontari and Balija communities into the BC list could not be suppressed by wild allegations made by the State ministers.

  • Vows not to step back till promises are fulfilled
  • Says that he will accept criticism as blessings

As part of his state-wide tour for garnering support to his agitation programme, Mudragada met BJP National Executive Council member and MLA Somu Veerraju, BJP MLA from Rajamahendravaram city Dr Akula Satyannarayana, YSRCP Central Governing Council member Jakkampudi Vijaya Lakshmi and former MLA Routhu Suryaprakasa Rao in Rajamahendravaram on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, Mudragada made it clear that he would not step back until Kapus would not be included in the BC list. He recalled that the Kapu community voted the TDP to power in the last elections as a poll promise of including the Kapus into the BC list by none other than the Chief Minister. The Kapus resorted to Kapu Garjana in Tuni as the government failed to keep its promises.

Recalling that the Telangana State Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao completed caste census in one day; Mudragada criticised Chandrababu Naidu for taking a decision for a survey in the cabinet meeting on Wednesday which according to him was a delaying tactic. He reminded the Chief Minister that the deadline would be completed by August end and demanded that the resolution should be made in the Assembly and should be sent to the Parliament.

He further said that he has been accepting criticisms made by the TDP ministers as blessings and is ready to tolerate any level of humiliation for the cause. Stating that many people have supported him, he urged the leaders of other political parties to extend support to his agitation programme if Naidu would fail to keep his promises.
