Vijayawada: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that the government was planning to provide gas connections to every house in the State and claimed that it has achieved hundred per cent electrification of households. Addressing officials through a teleconference on the occasion of completion of two years rule on Wednesday, Naidu said that 4.47 lakh houses have been electrified under ‘Power for All’ programme.

He said the government is making efforts to supply drinking water and cable connection to all houses. The Chief Minister said that it was proposed to lay 5,000 km of roads in the current financial year to increase rural connectivity. “We have adopted a mission mode approach to improve the quality of life by introducing missions like gas grid, water grid and power grid. We are ensuring food for all by increasing the food production,” he added.

  • Directs officials to prepare road map for development of all constituencies

Naidu was pleased that the week-long Nava Nirmana Deeksha activities brought awareness among the people on the welfare activities taken up by the government. He said that the progress the TDP government has achieved with the limited resources and finances stands a testimony for his governance. He ordered the officials to prepare a road map for development of every constituency and instructed all the departments to be made online.

“There was an increase in rainfall by 8 per cent this year and the groundwater levels increased to 12.93 meters. The increase in water table is equivalent to 90 tmc ft and it is expected to reach 200 tmc ft by end of this month,” he said. Stating that the government aims to eradicate poverty by increasing the individual incomes, Naidu urged people to come forward to make the State clean and healthy. He appealed the people to take up construction of toilets both in their households and also at the community level.
