Kakinada: Our prime concern is to save the life of Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham as the law will not permit fast unto death. And the police broke open the doors and shifted his family members to Rajamahendravaram movement hospital on June 9. The police did not use any abusive language and ill-treated any of them,” said East Godavari Superintendent of Police M Ravi Prakash.

The SP said that the services of women police were taken in shifting the family members to hospital. In doing so, there might be scuffle between the police and family members, the SP clarified.

He said that the police maintained restraint during Tuni train burning where the miscreants pelted stones, burnt not only the train but Tuni Rural police station and even police vehicles. In stone pelting, some police personal sustained injuries, the SP said.
In spite of this, in order maintain law and order and to protect the lives of passengers in the train, the police maintained restraint, the SP clarified.

With regard to imposing Section 144 in the district, SP said that 144 would continue till the end of this month. The Section 30 would continue further. The SP left the venue hurriedly and did not respond to battery of questions by media persons.
