Vijayawada: British High Commissioner in India Dominic Asquith said Britain would extend cooperation for development of State. The British High Commissioner met Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at his residence here on Thursday and gave a presentation on the Britain investment opportunities in State.

He said that Britain would offer its expertise in public transport and encourage industrialists to invest in State. He said that they would extend cooperation for skill development, medical services, IT and infrastructure development in State.

The Chief Minister said the government is ready to extend cooperation for a hospital to be set up in Amaravati by allotting the land. He said Amaravati would be developed as one among the best 10 cities in the world.

He said several multinational companies are coming forward to set up their units in the capital region. He said the State has a long coastline paving way for development of several ports. He said Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Tirupati airports would be developed as international airports.

The Chief Minister said that AP would be developed as a logistic hub. Later, the British High commissioner in India visited the temporary Secretariat complex at Velagapudi and Dhyana Buddha Project at Amaravati.

Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana, Chief Secretary SP Tucker, Government Advisor Parakala Prabhakar and Special Chief Secretary Satish Chandra were present.
