Rajamahendravaram: Next Generation Network (NGN) of BSNL, a revolutionary landline technology with 1800 lines was inaugurated in Rajamahendravaram by East Godavari Collector H Arun Kumar along with BSNL Senior General Manager M Chrisostam and Municipal Commissioner V Vijayarama Raju.

Speaking on the occasion, collector Arun Kumar said that BSNL was the only organisation connecting rural areas including Agency areas. However, he opined that BSNL needed to improve its services to compete with the private players.

Vijayarama Raju asked BSNL to provide 4G services in Rajamahendravaram as the private companies were offering 4G services free of cost on a trial basis for three months.

He said the Corporation would come forward to assist BSNL if it provides free Wi-Fi services in select places, to attract more number of customers. NGN is a versatile platform for broadband, landline and mobile services enabling seamless connectivity, said Chrisostam.

Using NGN technology, customers can shift fixed mobile wireless phone numbers to any place in the country, he said. He further stated that Internet Protocol (IP) technology would be available through NGN services through which voice, data, video, texting and video streaming would be available.

He added that the customer would have the option of video conference as well as controlling the speed. BSNL will soon launch NGN with 23 thousand lines in Kakinada in the second phase, he said.

Joint General Manager A Srinivasa Rao and others spoke on the occasion.
