A 25-feet-tall monolith Anjaniputra Hanuman statue was installed on Saturday on the outskirts of Pedda Devalapuram in Bandi Atmakur mandal of Srisailam Assembly constituency. The idol was installed in the proposed biggest ever Srichakra-shaped temple complex to be built on a 5.5-acre site in Kurnool district. The complex will feature 12 temples to various deities.

The idol was installed in the proposed biggest ever Srichakra-shaped temple complex to be built on a 5.5-acre site in Kurnool district. The complex will feature 12 temples to various deities.

Hampi Virupaksha seer Vidyaranya Bharati Swami installed the idol amidst chanting of Vedic hymns by scholars. In connection with the installation ceremony, yagas and homams were performed for three days at the proposed temple’s yagasala. Later, Vidyaranya Bharati gave a discourse extolling the qualities of Lord Hanuman. He appealed to the people not to ignore Indian culture wooed by foreign culture. Thousands of devotees were present at the place to witness the installation
ceremony.
