Tadipatri (Anantapur): Rama Subba Reddy (50), accused in the triple murder of his wife Sulochanamma and two daughters Prathyusha (22) and Sai Prathiba (19), and who was found missing after the three were found murdered in their house in Krishnapuram in the town on Tuesday morning, committed suicide after consuming poison on Wednesday morning.

The accused, who was missing since Tuesday morning was found lying in an unconscious state in front of TTD Kalyana Mandapam. The local people who identified Reddy immediately reported to the police who came to the place and rushed him to hospital by 108 van but he died while on the way to the hospital.

The accused, according to the Tadipatri police, was suspected to be behind the murder of his wife Sulochanamma and two daughters Prathyusha and Sai Pratibha. Prasanna, third daughter of Subba Reddy, is studying in Tirupati and was away from home when the murders took place.

Head injuries were found on the deceased. A huge hammer with wooden handle burnt was found at the back of the house. Screams of the women were heard from their house in the wee hours of Tuesday but by the time the local people came to the house the three were found in a pool of blood. The accused Subba Reddy had reportedly called his daughter in Tirupati before taking the extreme step.

The police are investigating into the mystery surrounding the triple murders.According to the local people, firm opposition of the family members to the plan of Subba Reddy to mortgage gold and their crop land had prompted him to indulge in the dastardly act.
