According to a complaint lodged by the dam deputy executive engineer Ravi Kumar and assistant executive engineer Chandrashekar with the Atmakur police, the sensor camera worth Rs 50,000 has been stolen. It is useful in recording data such as inflows into the dam, water discharged from the dam and such other details.

The Irrigation department fixed the camera to record the data. But it was stolen. Earlier, solar lamps worth Rs 1.5 lakh were also stolen. According to criticism, officials and laskars are drawing fat salaries but not bothering to pay attention to the theft of valuable equipment.
