Kurnool: YSRCP has been leaving no stone unturned to upset the applecart of the ruling TDP in the forthcoming Nandyal by-polls. The numero uno of YSRCP, Jaganmohan Reddy, is all set to deploy all the party MLAs in the Nandyal assembly constituency to effectively counter the deployment of sizable number of ministers by the ruling party.

In a strategic move, the party high command handed over the responsibility of supervising by-election to the party seniors Peddireddi Ramachandra Reddy and Botcha Satyanarayana.

While Ramachandra Reddy is a close relative of the YSRCP candidate Silpa Mohan Reddy, Botcha Satyanarayana is intended to woo the voters belonging to Kapu community, who are in sizable number in the constituency.

Since both the leaders are seasoned in political and poll management, they are entrusted with the responsibility of three mandals to coordinate with the local leaders by giving timely advices. In addition to them, 28 MLAs were deployed in the first installment to work along with the local leaders.

Coming to the assembly constituency, there are three mandals—Nandyal Urban, Nandyal Rural and Gospadu—in its limits. The party candidate, Silpa Mohan Reddy has considerable grip over Nandyal Urban since he is the local leader.

According to sources, the 28 MLAs are likely to be put in charge of 28 wards in the town by the high command. The Nandyal Rural has been entrusted with Peddireddi Ramachandra Reddy and Alla Ramakrishna Reddy.

Among the Reddy community there are people from three regions in Nandyal, one of the biggest commercial hubs of Kurnool. The YSRCP leaders believe very few of the local Reddy community would support the ruling TDP. Referring to the other two groups of Reddy community, one group came from coastal Andhra region during the construction of Telugu Ganga canal and the second group migrated from Kadapa. The YSRCP leaders are trying to woo these two groups to garner their support.

In Gospadu mandal, Gangula Brothers—Gangula Prabhakar Reddy and Gangula Pratap Reddy—hold sway over people. Along with them former DCCB chairman PP Nagi Reddy is striving hard to get the YSRCP candidate elected. The leadership has high hopes on these leaders in the mandal.
