Visakhapatnam: Nandamuri Balakrishna is creating a new trend in Telugu industry by introducing Social Responsibility Activities during the release of his 101st film `Paisa Vasool’. For the first time in the T-town, Balakrishna has decided to give scholarships to 101 Class X students, whose parents and kin are fan club members.

Instead of celebrating the release day with big fanfare activities, scion of Nandamuri family initiated the scholarship programme to the poor students among his fans.

Expectations have touched the roof among fans as well as in trade circles for ‘Paisa Vasool’ since Balayya is teaming up with ace director Puri Jagannath for the first time. It’s a different story that the director is the news for all wrong reasons these days.

Usually, fan clubs celebrate release function of their favourite stars by distributing fruits, sweets and pour milk on the cutouts as Abhishekam. Whereas, some other fans offer special pujas at temples and also decorate the movie halls with lights and flowers etc.,

However, there are no social responsibility activities witnessed in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana so far. In the recent times, all A-listers are maintaining an organizational set up by registering their fan clubs at district and state-level.

Nandamuri Balakrishna state-wide fans association is also maintaining a data-base by enrolling the name and address of the fans. "Our hero Balakrishna wanted to help the poor boys among his fan following and initiated this scholarships programme.

With Paisa Vasool’ being his 101st movie, total 101 students will be given scholarships in both the Telugu states. From each district four students will be selected for the same. The selection process will be taken up by state-level NBK Fans," says Pydiraju Yadav, Vizag NBK Fans President, told Hans India.

Apparently, on the release day, the fans are gearing up to conduct social-welfare programmes including blood donation camps, distribution of books and reading material to the students in the government schools located near the theaters where ‘Paisa Vasool’ set to be screened.

‘Actually, the release day is a kind of festival for us. Already the stumper of our movie has received huge response. “Even this time we are celebrating it but in a different manner, that’s it," says Mathukumilli Ramprasad an hardcore fan of Nandamuri star.
