Change of venue for Republic Day function Chittoor
District Collector PS Pradyumna has taken a decision to organise an official Republic Day function at Police Training Centre (PTC) near Chittoor instead Police Parade Grounds as there is space constraint for parking vehicles.
District Collector PS Pradyumna has taken a decision to organise an official Republic Day function at Police Training Centre (PTC) near Chittoor instead Police Parade Grounds as there is space constraint for parking vehicles. For the first time in the district’s history, the celebrations will be organised outside the regular venue. The PTC at Reddigunta is at a distance of 6 km from the city while the parade grounds is in the heart of the city.
Meanwhile, Joint Collector Girisha has convened a meeting with the district officials in his chambers here on Wednesday. He has reviewed the pros and cons of changing the Republic Day function venue with the officials.
He instructed them to create awareness about the need for changing the venue. Additional Joint Collector Chandramouli, DRDA Project Director Ravi Prakash Reddy, DMHO Vijaya Gouri, District Fire Officer Srinivasulu Reddy, Chittoor RDO Kodandarami Reddy and other officials were present in the meeting. Some sections of the society are against the change of venue as there is no proper transport facility to Reddigunta.
