Visakhapatnam: District Collector Pravin Kumar called upon the officials of various departments to ensure a better coordination while discharging their duties. He said that unless there is a better coordination among all the officials, the issues would not be resolved and the people would suffer a lot.

As a part of the ‘Grama Darsini’ (village visit) programme, Pravin Kumar on Thursday visited G Venkatapuram village of Makavarapalem and inspected development works in the village and told the officials to frequently meet the local elected representatives to solve problems. With better coordination between the officials and elected representatives, villages could be transformed into model villages, he added.

Collector Pravin Kumar went through various parts of the village and inspected the Mandal Parishad School, Sujala Sravanthi Drinking Water Scheme and solid waste management process in the village. He observed that there were no CC roads in the village and the existing roads also damaged.

While interacting with the villagers, the District Collector said that this year, the district administration fixed a target to lay a 800-km long CC roads under MGNREGS. He directed the officials to lay CC roads in the village without any further delay.

The locals informed the Collector about fluoride in drinking water. Responding on the issue, Pravin Kumar directed the Rural Water Supply officials to check the water samples of all the borewells in the village to submit a report immediately.

He also directed the officials to supply drinking water till the reports confirmed the fluoride issue. RDO Visweshwara Rao, Mandal Special Officer Srinivasa Kumar and MPDO Udaysri were present.
