Ongole: Prakasam District Superintendent of Police Bhusarapu Satya Yesubabu announced that the committee members of the Vinayaka Chaviti pandals will be made responsible for any unforeseen event during the festival time and during the procession and nimarjan of Ganesha.
He said in a statement that the committee members must take permission from police and electricity department to install Vinayaka idol by submitting the location of the pandal, nimarjan date and route map to the local DSP. He said that they should take permission from the police to use mike and loud speakers with low sound and should stop using them by 10 pm. He ordered the committee members to make sure some of them available at the pandal round the clock and not allow any accidents due to fire or short circuit in them.
He ordered the pandal committee members to lift the idols at the scheduled time given by the police and should see that no sticks, knives or any crackers loaded onto the vehicle with the idol. He warned them against allowing children onto the vehicles. He asked them not to distribute prasadam from the vehicle as the people receiving it may fall under the tyres. He ordered them not to use DJ, movie songs, obscene dances, drunkards in the procession and asked them to strictly follow the police instructions from time to time.
