Kadapa: While ruling out possibility of Congress entering poll alliance with the TDP in the ensuing elections, former Minister and Congress leader C Ramachandraiah has warned to quit the Congress if it has such plans. Speaking to media here on Monday, Ramachandraiah exuded confidence of Congress would never do such a mistake as it fought against the TDP in the last 30 years.
He came down heavily on Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for looting public money in the name of capital city development. He explained happiness as bringing smiles on the faces of common man but not showing constructed buildings in Amaravati. The Congress leader slammed the government for issuing bonds to raise funds for the construction of capital city.
“State government has borrowed Rs 44,000 crore from various financial institutions including the World Bank for construction of state capital. He demanded that the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) officials should explain as to how they would repay loans. Ramachandraiah has alleged large scale irregularities in the construction of roads in Amaravati.
He claimed the government has finalised tender for the construction of a road between Uddandarayunipalem-Nidamarru at a cost of Rs 17 crore per kilometre which was too high. To hide facts about misuse of funds, the TD government did not appoint RTI Commissioners even after the High Court directions, he added.
The Congress leader asked Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu why AP Planning Board Vice-Chairman C Kutumba Rao is giving reply for all government financial matters instead of him. He said Chandrababu was trying to gain sympathy by making actor Sivaji to issue statements about ‘Operation Garuda.’ PCC Secretary M Chandrasekhar Reddy, DCC President SK Nazir Ahmed and others were present.
