Visakhapatnam: The cyclonic storm ‘Daye’ weakened into depression and crossed the coast between Odisha and West Bengal on Friday. With this, all the major alerts, including heavy to extremely heavy rain warnings were issued by the IMD in the north coastal Andhra were withdrawn.

However, strong winds with 60-kmph speed along and off the north coastal Andhra will continue in the next 24-hours. Minor damages were predicted to unsecured structures.

The state of the sea is still rough over north Coastal Andhra and fishermen are advised not to venture into it in next 24-hours. The deep depression intensified into a cyclonic storm and was named ‘Daye.’ The system is likely to weaken further and presently moving west-north-westwards.
