Helmet rally organised in Guntur

Guntur: District Collector Kona Sasidhar flagged off the helmet rally conducted on the occasion of the 30th Road Safety Week celebrations at a programme held at Collectorate here on Monday. The Road Safety Week commenced on Monday and will be observed till February 10.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that everybody should have an awareness about road safety and they should take preventive steps to check road accidents.
He said that they will conduct meetings to create awareness on road safety to the auto drivers and school bus drivers. He said that during last year, 930 people died in road accidents.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was taking several steps to check road accidents. Following instructions of the government, they were conducting the programmes to check the road accidents.
He reminded that they had issued instructions to arrange seat belts in the school buses.
Guntur Rural SP SV Raja Sekhara Babu, Deputy Transport Commissioner Raja Ratnam were among those participated.
