Rajamahendravaram: Sub-Collector CM Sai Kanth Varma has said that vote is a weapon in the hands of the people to elect right persons in the elections and it is their duty to choose correct candidate.
Briefing about the functioning of control unit, ballot unit and VVPAT unit to the representatives of various political parties at his office here on Friday, he said after exercising vote, the respective voter can confirm on VVPAT to whom he cast his vote.
However, the slip can be seen on VVPAT screen for seven seconds only. In each ballot unit, names of 15 contestants are only allowed and another ballot unit can also be used if the number of contestants is more than 15, he added.
Tahsildars and assistant electoral officers in the division also participated.
