Maserati Levante debuts before 2016 Geneva Motor Show
Maserati Levante is the first ever SUV from the Italian car maker.Based on the Maserati Kubang Concept which was showcased back at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, new Maserati Levante is all-set to make global debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show in two weeks time. But before that, Maserati has revealed a few images of the Levante on their website, giving their fans an idea of what to expect.

The first-ever Maserati SUV, Levante has taken about five years to take shape. Based on the same platform as the Ghibli, Levante keeps much of the design similar to the highly impressive Kubang. Maserati Levante has already entered production at the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Mirafiori assembly plant in Italy.

Speaking about interiors, Maserati have not revealed any info or images of the same, but thanks to leaked images, it is confirmed that Levante interiors are very similar to that of Ghibli. Highlights include premium leather upholstery and a large touchscreen infotainment system.

Speaking about engine options, the new Maserati Levante SUV is expected to be offered in a choice of petrol and diesel engine options, like the Ghibli. The petrol engine is in the form of a 3.0 liter V6 while the diesel engine is in the form of a 3.0 liter V6. Levante petrol will be offered in two tunes, Levante 350 and Levante 450.

Leaked specs sheet reveals that the Levante 350 petrol variant can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 6.3 seconds and has a top speed of 243 kmph, while the Levante 450 petrol can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 5.2 seconds and has a top speed of 264 kmph. Levante diesel can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 6.9 seconds and has a top speed of 230 kmph. Transmission is taken care by a new 8 speed automatic gearbox which sends power to all four wheels.
