Hyderabad: Telecom operator Uninor has expanded its communication network across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana by adding 624 new sites. With this, the company’s network covers 40 per cent of the area in the two states.

This is a part of Uninor’s largest ever network expansion drive across India in a single year, wherein the telecom operator has deployed 5,000 addition network sites across its six circles, increasing its footprint by almost 30 per cent. With the expansion, company now has more than 24,000 network sites across its operational circles.

“The addition of over 5000 new sites is a reflection of our commitment towards providing enhanced quality of services to our customers and a key step towards our expansion strategy in the country. With our ‘Sabse Sasta’ proposition and Internet for All strategy, we were able to achieve strong revenue growth this year,” Vivek Sood, CEO, Uninor, told media here.

On AP and TS, he said expansion would give Uninor a much deeper coverage and better service experience. Ranked sixth the two states which fall under AP circle, Uninor has over 4.5 million subscribers. It has 200 branded stores and 60,000 points of sale (POS) for its products.

“With the network expansion, we will also be able to offer a better 2G coverage for data and voice. We will continue to serve our customers and the telecommunications sector overall to the best of our capabilities," said Satish Kannan, Circle Business Head, TS & AP, Uninor.
