In line with a weak stock market, the combined market valuation of top six Sensex companies fell by Rs 53,886 crore last week, where RIL and CIL took the biggest hit.


On a weekly basis, the Sensex lost 355.41 points or 1.35 per cent to 25,863.50.

Barring TCS, HDFC Bank, Infosys and ITC, others like Sun Pharma, ONGC, HDFC and SBI suffered losses in their market capitalisation (m-cap) for the week ended Friday.

The valuation of RIL slumped Rs 18,523.8 crore to Rs 2,71,347.84 crore, taking the steepest hit among the top-10 firms.

CIL's m-cap plunged Rs 15,443.51 crore to Rs 2,01,239.37 crore and that of ONGC tumbled Rs 9,582.14 crore to Rs 1,94,551.85 crore.

The market valuation of HDFC declined by Rs 4,594.39 crore to Rs 1,86,274.28 crore, Sun Pharma lost Rs 3,320.88 crore to Rs 2,14,485.67 crore.

Similarly, SBI's m-cap went down by Rs 2,421.18 crore to Rs 1,80,946.10 crore.

On the other hand, Infosys' valuation jumped Rs 8,418.3 crore to Rs 2,62,173.26 crore.

Among others, TCS added Rs 4,201.47 crore to Rs 5,04,489.98 crore, ITC (Rs 3,429.02 crore to Rs 2,58,974.86 crore) and HDFC Bank (Rs 635.58 crore to Rs 2,64,485.83 crore).

In the ranking of top 10 firms, TCS retained its numero- uno position followed by RIL, HDFC Bank, Infosys, ITC, Sun Pharma, CIL, ONGC, HDFC and SBI.
