Hyderabad: Goodknight, the home insecticide brand of Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GCPL) on Monday launched Naturals Neem Agarbatti, a mosquito repellent incense stick. Godrej which clocked a turnover of Rs 2,500 crore notes both the Telugu states as an important market. In the consumer segment it garnered 66 per cent market share in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, a top official said.

Sunil Kataria, CEO India, Godrej Consumer Products Limited, said, “in a market that has many illegal brands of harmful agarbattis, our new product is natural. Moreover, there is a challenge of illegal products in the market.”According to him, the illegal incense stick market in India is about Rs 500 crore.

Speaking about the home insecticide market, he said the household insecticide category in India is about Rs 6,000 crore, growing annually at a rate of 10 per cent. Without revealing the market share of Goodknight, Kataria said their brand leads in the organised household insecticide industry. Goodknight has a range of products under the outdoor and indoor mosquito repellent category.
