Tirumala: The holy temple tank of Swamy Pushkarini located adjacent to Srivari temple in Tirumala is all set for the usage of the pilgrims with its new look from Sunday onwards. As a part of the routine activity every year a month prior to Sri Vari annual brahmotsavams, TTD has taken up the Swamy Pushkarini facelift works on August 16. Tirumala JEO KS Sreenivasa Raju personally monitored the repair works every day.

The old water, silt have been removed from the holy temple tank and refilled with one crore litres of purified water. About 100 workers worked day and night to give a new look to the holy tank as per the instructions of Water Works EE A Narasimha Murthy and continuous supervision by Deputy EE Gopalakrishna Reddy and AE Chandrasekhar. The walls and steps inside the pushkarini have been painted in gold to give an attractive look to Swamy Pushkarini. TTD halted the daily Puskarini harati due to the cleaning and purification works of the temple tank for about a month. The entry of pilgrims into Swamy Pushkarini has also been temporarily shut by TTD in the wake of renovation works. However, with the completion of works, TTD has restored Pushkarini Harati on Saturday evening. The pilgrims will be allowed to take holy bath in the temple tank from Sunday onwards.
