A recent snap of Trisha posing cutely with her heavily loaded left hand, carrying the weight of a beautiful sparkling diamond, and possibly that of engagement, fuelled speculations that Trisha indeed got engaged to Chennai-based businessman Varun Manian. However, the petite actress took to Twitter and rubbished any such happening late Monday night. "Ola people. FYI I am NOT engaged! If n when I do, u will hear it from me first (sic),” she tweeted.

Nevertheless, there’s more to the story than what meets the eye. Apparently we hear that the actress is very much seeing Varun Manian, the managing director of Chennai’s Radiance Realty Developers India Ltd. A graduate from New York University, he is currently co-producing Siddharth-starrer ‘Kaaviya Thalaivan’.

A Chennai birdie tells us that the ring that Trisha was seen sporting in a picture was indeed presented by Varun and that the marriage is beyond doubt on the cards. “Both the families held consultations sometime back. The marriage is likely to take place early summer next year,” informs the birdie.

Meanwhile, actress Raai Laxmi, last seen in a peppy number in ‘Balupu’, took a jibe at Trisha’s ‘not engaged’ response. Labeling Trisha as fake, thus indicating that she is engaged to Varun, she posted, “One should hv the balls to accept the truth abt their personallife! Surprised! why someone would lie abt a situation which is true #fake (sic).” For starters Trisha and Raai Laxmi don’t meet eye to eye. They’ve often indulged in war of words on Twitter.
