Tashu gets married; quits films

Actress Tashu Kaushik entered into wedlock with her childhood friend Devang Raj Tayal, an entrepreneur, in Jodhpur on December 9. The destination wedding was a lavish affair attended by close friends and family. The couple was engaged in January.

The first decision she has taken is bidding goodbye to films and joining her hubby in his business venture. Tashu admits that getting hitched to her friend was the best thing to have happened in her life. “Actually, the thought of being married is yet to sink in (smiles), but I’m very happy and excited.

I know that we make a great couple and I can look forward to a secure life with Devang. Both our families have been planning for a destination wedding over the last six months and the ceremony turned out to be bigger affair than expected. We booked two palaces Samode and Chomu Palace, where we had Sangeeth and wedding respectively,” exults Tashu. Incidentally, a reception was held in Kanpur for friends of the couple.

“I had wrapped up all my films before my engagement and I’m done with acting. I had great time and want to thank the audience for their support. But my passion for films will remain the same. I haven’t invited many people from Tollywood except Sana Khan and director Prasad,” she explains.

“In a way, post-marriage nothing has changed for me. I have known my in-laws since childhood. Yes, they’ve been pampering me a lot (smiles) and I’m only putting on weight. I’m excited with the new life and already started pestering Devang for shopping, etc. We are planning to go to the US for our honeymoon,” Tashu explains.
