At the launch of her second book, Kanika shared about the hard times she underwent in her personal life due to the sudden death of her father while writing this book.

She explained the difference between script writing and book writing and said: “I have written script for films and also penned books. When you write books you are a free bird. When its screenplay, there is brevity of words and there are more players who need to be convinced of the plot.”

Talking about her book she said, “There is a character called ‘Rajjo’ in my book, she has to go through a lot of humiliation in terms of physical abuse, torture and jealousy. Suddenly she takes ‘Durga Avatar’ and takes revenge.”

Excerpts from the book were read by Anjum Babu Khan, Lakshmi Manchu, Elahe Hiptoola, Rana Daggubati and Rakul Preet Singh. After the reading session, Kanika requested Rana to be the voice of the audio book of ‘The Dance of Durga’ as his is great and suit the book. Rana accepted the request and thanked Kanika for the opportunity.
