Honour killing in Guntur, Software engineer Deepti Killing Case, Deepti’s Murder Case. A software engineer, Deepti, hailing from Rajendranagar area in the town and working in HCL in Hyderabad, allegedly became a victim of honour killing, two days after entering into a love marriage on March 21.

The incident created a sensation here. Her parents Pachala Haribabu and Samrajyam allegedly killed her by hanging her in their house; they had strongly resented her action. They are absconding. Pattabhipuram police registered a case, based on a complaint by Deepti’s husband Kiran Kumar.
Deepti and Kiran were colleagues. They fell in love and decided to get married, even though her parents did not agree. They got married at Arya Samaj in Hyderabad. Members of both families were present. On Saturday night, Haribabu and Samrajyam brought Deepti here for post-marriage ceremonies. Kiran’s parents followed them. After reaching her house, they found that she was dead, according to Bilaluddin, the CI.
