Hyderabad: The City Police Commissioner M Mahender Reddy on Wednesday suspended five police officials on charges of corruption and indulging in misappropriation of funds related to motor vehicles. The suspended officials were identified as TSA Prasad, inspector of police, (Automobile team), G Srinivas, sub inspector, Madhu Mohan, inspector of police, all attached to Central Crime Station (CCS), and RM Gurunadhudu, assistant sub-inspector, SR Nagar police station and A Mohan, head constable.
“The officials were given suspension orders on charges of misconduct and dereliction of their duties. They indulged in misappropriation of funds and committed criminal breach of trust. The inspector and staff misused the funds for personal gains and acted beyond their legitimate duties,” Reddy said adding that as many as 56 vehicles were recovered from them which have no legal records.A detailed investigation will be conducted against these officials and a department-level action will be initiated accordingly, the CP said.
