Warangal: Balala Hakkula Sangham (BHS), child rights NGO, on Saturday lodged a complaint with the authorities concerned alleging that Madikonda Inspector Sridhar had violated child rights by torturing a minor boy. In a statement, the BHS honorary president P Achyuta Rao said the inspector took law into his hands and used third degree against a 15-year-old boy, Sangam Pradeep on the pretext that the boy had stolen a mobile phone.

Speaking to The Hans India, Warangal District Child Welfare Committee (CWC) chairperson K Anitha Reddy said, “I spoke to the boy and his mother over phone after our members personally met them. I told the boy to meet me on Monday. After verifying his version, further action will be taken.”

Anitha Reddy, who received the complaint from BHS, said that she came to know that the inspector repeatedly summoned the boy to the police station. A notice will be slapped on the inspector after she hears the boy side of the what happened, it is learnt.

BHS also lodged the complaint with the Principal Secretary, Home Affairs, Director General of Police and Telangana State Commission for Protection of Child Rights member P Revathi Devi seeking the suspension of the Inspector besides initiating a probe.
