4 youngsters killed in road accident in Mahbubnagar
Four youngsters were killed in a ghastly road accident that took place at the Atmakur tank bund on Sunday night while they were returning from the annual Kurumurthi Swamy Jatara in Devarakadra mandal. The deceased were identified as Kummari Naresh of Arepalli, Safi of Kurumurthi, Dhulanna of Pinnamcherla and Kavali Ravi of Amarachinta.
Mahbubnagar: Four youngsters were killed in a ghastly road accident that took place at the Atmakur tank bund on Sunday night while they were returning from the annual Kurumurthi Swamy Jatara in Devarakadra mandal. The deceased were identified as Kummari Naresh of Arepalli, Safi of Kurumurthi, Dhulanna of Pinnamcherla and Kavali Ravi of Amarachinta.
It is suspected that all the victims were in inebriated condition when the tragedy struck. Meanwhile, the residents of Atmakur town said that there was a need for a speed-breaker on the tank bund where the road is narrow. They also recalled an accident that took place recently at the same place where two persons were killed.
Atmakur Town CI Shankar and SI Ch Raju visited the spot and registered a case. Speaking to the media, Raju said they have been striving to educate bike users about dangers of drunk driven and the importance of wearing helmets. He appealed to the youth and road users to think about their families before ignoring the road rules.
