Hyderabad: A vidya durbar was organised here on Monday by Uppal MLA NVSS Prabhakar. Initiating the review of schools in the area, Prabhakar said that educational standards in government schools are to be improved. “It is a pity we do not have toilets and water facilities and there is scarcity of staff in the schools surrounding the state capital city. The central government sponsored mid-day meals schemes are to be supported by the state government with an additional budget in order to provide nutrition-rich meals,” he stressed.
He also said that he would bring to the notice of the chief minister the lack of infrastructure, facilities, shortage of funds and scarcity of staff in the Uppal constituency. The MLA stated that the DEOs lost control over private schools that are charging an exorbitant fee.
Deputy DEOs, MRO, MEOs of Uppal, Keesara and Ghatkesar; ASO Ravi Kumar, GHMC officials, 50 high school head masters, 35 upper and primary school head masters attended the meeting.
