Mynampally, Akula joins Congress
Mynampally Hanumantha Rao, Akula Rajender Joins Congress. Mainampalli Hanumanta Rao, a Telugu Desam Party MLA, joined Congress Party in the presence of Digvijay Singh, the AICC in charge of state affairs.
New Delhi: Mynampally Hanumanta Rao, a Telugu Desam Party MLA, joined Congress Party in the presence of Digvijay Singh, the AICC in charge of state affairs. It is learnt that Mainampalli was dissent over the matter of allocating Malkajgiri seat to BJP as part of their alliance with the latter.
Mynampally later addressed the media and said that he was appointed as the conctituency in charge of Malkajgiri four years before with a promise that he would be given party ticket to contest from Malkajgiri constituency. Nevertheless, said Mynampally that the seat has been now allocated to BJP. Further, he said that he called on Digvijay Singh along with Ponnala Lakshmaiah to join Congress Party. It is learnt that he would be contesting from Malkajgiri constituency on Congress Party ticket.
From the other end, Akula Rajender who recently joined Telugu Desam Party joined back in Congress Party early on Monday.
