Former minister and Seemandhra Congress Manifesto Committee chairman Anam Ramanarayan Reddy announced on Friday that he would contest from the Atmakur Assembly constituency.
Talking to the media, Reddy said he had striven for development of the constituency during the last 20 years. The high command had suggested either he contest for the Lok Sabha or the Assembly; he had opted for the Atmakur seat. He appealed to the activists to strive restoring the party’s glory in the constituency.
Earlier, he held a meeting with the constituency leaders and activists and reviewed the situation. He appealed to Congress activists to stand by the party in its hour of crisis and take up work without taking into consideration either win or loss in elections.
