The political atmosphere continues to be hot beating the summer heat with the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Telugu Desam re-thinking on the alliance and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan waiting for the two parties to make an official statement on the break up. The hero-turned-politician held closeted meeting with his supporters and had several rounds of talks with businessman Potluri Vara Prasad (PVP) on Thursday. The Jana Sena chief had earlier decided to field his men at eight Lok Sabha constituencies in Andhra Pradesh including Vijayawada and not to campaign for the Telugu Desam. Upset with the TDP dishonouring his request for one LS seat to his friend PVP, Pawan Kalyan had made up his mind not to seek votes for TDP during his campaign. He had also reportedly told the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on his stand and expressed his displeasure to work with Chandrababu Naidu. He had also reportedly told Modi about his intentions to field his men in Seemandhra where the BJP is not contesting.
Chandrababu Naidu had also formally admitted into the party BJP leader Kanumuru Raghurama Krishnam Raju at Eluru. Raghurama Krishnam Raju had then filed his nominations as TDP candidate for Narsapur Lok Sabha constituency where he was denied ticket by the YSR Congress earlier and the BJP later. Interestingly, he had filed two sets of nominations each on BJP and TDP here. The BJP, which had secured Narsapur Lok Sabha seat in alliance with TDP, had nominated industrialist Gokaraju Gangaraju.
Meanwhile, the Lok Satta (LS) and the BJP leaders have invited the Jana Sena chief to field his supporters on their party ticket. The Jana Sena chief had extended his support to Lok Satta chief Jayaprakash Narayana at Malkajgiri Lok Sabha constituency along with the BJP in the State. The two parties have suggested to the Sena chief to field his men on their party symbols. However, PVP told this newspaper on Thursday evening that they have discussed the two offers from the LS and BJP. “He (Pawan Kalyan) is waiting (for TD, BJP to announce the breakup). Once it (breakup) is clear and official, he will decide from his side. We will let you know whatever is decided,” PVP reiterated. Meanwhile, the BJP has asked the party leaders to be ready to file nominations in all the 175 Assembly and 25 Lok Sabha constituencies in case both the parties fail to resolve the differences.
