Telangana Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma and GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar participated in the Swachh Hyderabad programme on its second day. Somesh Kumar stated that that so far 1,000 tons of waste has been cleared by the 425 units of the Swachh programme in the last two days.

Somesh Kumar stated that that so far 1,000 tons of waste has been cleared by the 425 units of the Swachh programme in the last two days. “Usually the GHMC lifts around 3,600 tons of garbage each day but on Monday 10,000 tons of garbage waste was cleared,” he said.


Rajiv Sharma and Somesh Kumar inspected BS Maktha at Somajiguda where Rajiv directed the concerned authorities to shift electrical poles which were causing inconvenience to commuters. The chief secretary asked the locals to form a committee for road widening and various civic related issues so that works can be taken up on priority.


He also observed that the open space beside Ayyappa Temple which was encroached and lot of garbage was being dumped for which he has directed the officials to take immediate action. The chief secretary also inspected the nala behind Park Hotel where nearly 113 acres of Government land was encroached for which he has directed officials to take immediate action.
