Hyderabad boy bags international laurels
Atharva Amit Gorantiwar a Class VIII student from Rockwell International School, Hyderabad has has secured International Rank 3 in 18th SOF (Science Olympiad Foundation) National Science Olympiad exam.
Hyderabad: Atharva Amit Gorantiwar a Class VIII student from Rockwell International School, Hyderabad has has secured International Rank 3 in 18th SOF (Science Olympiad Foundation) National Science Olympiad exam.
Amit was felicitated in an award function organised by SOF at Chinmaya Mission, Delhi on 12th June. He received International bronze medal, merit certificate and 10,000 prize.
The exam is divided into two steps. First step of the exam was organised on October 8, 2015 while second step was conducted on February 14, 2016. More than 34000 schools from over 1400 cities and 22 countries registered for these exams and millions of students appeared in them.
Justice Cyriac Joseph presided over the function as the chief guest and Prof Y S Rajan and Michael King from British Council were the guests of honour.
