Suryapet: A 75-year-old woman died after she was allegedly denied permission to visit the doctor by the police who were on duty at Minister G Jagadish Reddy house on Tuesday.

According to the husband of the deceased woman, on Tuesday at around 12 noon, Laxmamma, who was seriously ill, was brought in a car for treatment at a clinic located beside the Minister's residence.

However, they were stopped by the police on bandobust and were not allowed to visit the doctor in the name of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s visit, he claimed. Soon, the kin of Laxmamma staged a dharna before the clinic and blamed the police for her death.

Meanwhile, district SP Parimala refuted the allegations made by the kin of the deceased Laxmamma and released a press note in this regard. In the press release, she stated that police did not restrict Laxmamma's car.

Instead, after learning about her serious condition, they even contacted the doctor through wireless even though CM’s convoy was reaching the Minster's house. She said the police on contrary helped Laxmamma’s family reach Dr Rammurthi's clinic and also brought the doctor to vehicle to save her.

After examining Laxmamma's pulse in the car itself, the doctor declared she was brought dead. Police in bandobust of CM's visit were not responsible for the woman’s death, she underlined.

Soon after CM left for Khammam, Minister G Jagadish Reddy went to Laxmamma's house, located at Sriram Nagar in the town, and paid tributes to her and expressed his deep condolences to the bereaved family.
