As the mandal is situated near to the forest area, the monkeys are slowly entering the villages and attacking the people. They have been destroying tiled roofs of their houses. The poorest of the poor are incurring heavy losses.

The menace of monkeys is has reached alarming proportions in the villages such as Ailapur, Mangaram and Lingampalli and people are finding it extremely difficult to control them.

There are several instances of monkeys attacking women and children. They are entering houses and ransacking the goods. Moreover, they are also destroying vegetable plantations and other crops.

Unable to put up with the monkey menace any longer, the villagers hired one Faqruddin of Bibipet mandal to catch the monkeys. He captured as many as 800 monkeys at Ailapur and 500 monkeys at the mandal headquarters by laying a trap.

According to reports, the monkeys will be left at Suduru forests. Farooq, a villager said that Faqruddin assured them that the troupes won’t reach the surroundings at least for two years.
